Misa Well-Heeled Grey

I have a little confession to make: I don't own any nude polishes. Not a single one!
The closest to a nude polish is the one I'm going to show you right now. I don't know... I just don't get excited when I see brown, taupe or beige polishes. If you think I should definitely try a specific nude color, please let me know!

For me, this is the nudest I go, Misa Well-Heeled Grey is a shimmering taupe polish. Absolutely gorgeous in the bottle and on the nail. The formula is perfect, it glides on the nail, not too thick, not too thin. The brush... oh my... the brush! I love the Misa brush! It's absolutely perfect! Nice and slender, but picks up enough product to cover 1 nail with just 1 dip in the bottle.

Heeled is almost opaque in 1 coat, but I always do 2 to make sure I don't have any bald spots. It dries fast and really shiny, these swatches are without topcoat.

2 coats Heeled, no topcoat
I can here you thinking: but... this IS a nude polish? Why would I say it's not? And what am I taling about when I call this a shimmer? Looks like just a plain nude cream...
Well... look at the following bottle shot :D

This little polish has an amazing purple shimmer! Didn't see that one coming did ya! It's a bit stronger in the bottle than on the nail, but still very noticable and it's what makes this polish really  unique and gorgeous.

I just love Misa, it might be my favorite brand and I hope they start making some more awesome colors!

Do you own any of these surprising polishes?

Girly Bits Rogue

When Girly Bits mentioned on her Facebook page that she had to discontinue a few polishes to make room for new ones, I immediately replied NOT ROGUE!!!
I love that polish! I just haven't been wearing it a lot lately, but after that scare, I decided to put it on my nails asap.

Girly Bits Rogue is a red jelly base with pink and violet micro glitter and red mini bar glitter. I normally don't like bar glitter, but in Rogue, they are so tiny, you hardly notice it's bar glitter. The formula is perfect, it glides on the nail. It dries fast, but a little matte. This is easily fixed with a coat of top coat.

I love the depth the violet and pink glitter gives this polish, it sparkles like no other on the nail and it's a real eye catcher. This polish does tend to thicken a little after time, but a good roll between my palms usually fixes this problem and if that doesn't do the trick, a couple of drops of thinner and the problem is gone.

Look at that violet glitter!
You can get this polish opaque on its own in about 3 coats, but I usually like to give it a head start by painting 1 coat of Misa Girl Friday as a base. (I'll post a review of this polish later.)

1 coat GF, 2 coats Rogue, 1 coat SV

Girly Bits is available on Etsy and LLarowe. Rogue is actually available at the moment, so I'd suggest you grab it while you can!

China Glaze 108 Degrees

Today I have my number 1 all time favorite polish for you. I think you'll be surprised when I show you which one it is. I'm not a huge fan of pink nails, although I do own a lot of them. They all tend to be the bright neon hot pink kind. I just can't get away with a soft babypink... I wore those a couple of times and I've never gotten so many bad remarks about a polish, lol.

But here you have it, my number one polish! It just doesn't have anything to do with the color, not really. It's the first polish I absolutely fell in love with, I couldn't get enough and I totally blame China Glaze 108 Degrees for my polish addiction. It's the one that started it all!

108 is a hot pink glass fleck jelly polish with a perfect formula. I love the fact that a jelly polish always seems to be a little on the sheer side, but never really is. You only need 2 - 3 coats to get it opaque. It has a very faint blueish purple shimmer to it, which brings this polish to live on the nail. I love everything about it and, as you can tell from my bottle shot, I've worn the hell out of this polish. I think this might be the first polish that I need to rebuy.

108 Degrees was part of the 2011 Island Escape collection, but I think it's part of the core collection now. It's still widely available. I absolutely adore this polish, even though it's not the most unique color. I even have a dupe in my own stash, but I have an emotional connection to this particular polish. It will always be a part of my stash and I will always wear it.

For those of you who are interested, the dupe in my stash is OPI I'm all Ears from the Vintage MinnieMouse Collection released in 2012, not to be confused with the Couture the Minnie collecion, released in 2013.

Pointer and ring: I'm all ears
Middle and pinky: 108 Degrees

Mani Monday: Glitter Darling Diva Seriously Serious

Happy Mani Monday!
Today's theme is glitter and I immediately knew which polish I was going to show you. My absolute favorite glitter is Darling Diva Polish Seriously Serious, a purple and green micro glitter in a clear base.

Darling Diva Polish is an Indie brand, made by Carrie in the USA. Indie polishes are hand mixed and usually really unique. I am a great lover of indie polish and have quite a few, but this is one of my absolute favorites!

Because of the clear base, it's a fairly sheer polish. You could get it opaque on it's own, but it would take at least 4 coats and you'll end up with a thick layer of glitter on your nail. It's better to layer it over an opaque base. Carrie recommends layering this over black, but I like it over blue and purple.

For this mani I used my favorite base for this polish OPI Russian Navy, a blue polish with a reddishpurple shimmer. I love this as the base, because you only need 1 coat.

Do you know that feeling when your hair just doesn't want to do what you want it to do? I think everybody has a bad hair day every once in a while, well, I had a bad nail day...
I was struggling with RN which normally glides on my nails and my removerpen was my best friend... I wanted to only paint 1 coat of RN, because it's opaque enough to layer Seriously over it, but because I normally do 2, I allready painted 3 nails with the second coat before I remembered I just wanted to do 1...
Obviously I can't do 2 coats on 3 nails and just 1 on the rest, so I finished my second layer.

When I finished the unneeded 2nd coat, I reached for my glitter and bumped my nails on the table, ruining 3 nails completely and had to do them all over again.

I finally managed to get this mani done and I just love it!
Seriously Serious has a perfect formula, it glides on the nail and is so densely packed with glitter, that 1 coat is more than enough. It dries fast, but you do need a shiny top coat, because it dries to a semi matte finish. This polish does have the tendency to get a little thick after standing in my stash for a while (and being used a LOT), but this is easily fixed with a few drops of thinner.

2 coats RN, 1 coat Seriously, 1 coat SV

In person, this is a lot more sparkly! It's just so pretty, but I can't seem to get it right in a photo.
Darling Diva is available on Etsy, Llarowe and Facebook.

Seriously Serious is the purple cousin of A Christmas Story, onother absolutely stunning glitter, but with red and green micro glitter.

If you want to read a full review on this polish, please go over to my friend Yv's blog, she just posted this polish (blog is in Dutch, but even just the pictures are stunning).

What's your favorite glitter?

Freeman Body Salt Scrub Guava

I love a good scrub, especially for my legs before shaving. It just gives me a closer shave and I don't have to get out the stinking razer everyday. I hate shaving my legs, but I hate having stubbly legs even more!

A while ago, I ran out of the body scrub I was using and decided I wanted to try a new one. I went to the shop and picked up the Freeman Body Salt Scrub Guava.

I was looking for a full body scrub that would leave my legs extremely smooth, so I wanted a salt scrub or a sugar scrub. As a sugar scrub tends to melt on me earlier, I opted for a salt scrub.

I expected it to be coarse and I even like that for my legs,  but this is beyond coarse! I don't mind a big grain in a scrub, because that is what usually works best on my legs, but this scrub actually hurts my legs when I use it. My legs usually get red after use and shaving is not an option, because I don't want to irritate my skin more than this scrub already does.

The tube has a cap that flips open, but it's really hard to get the product out that way. I've found it easier to twist of the entire cap and squeeze it out that way.

The product doesn't melt as soon as it touches your skin or gets wet, which is a plus, but it also doesn't wash away in my shower. This makes the showerfloor extremely slippery, so be carefull when using this product!

The only thing I really like about this product is the smell... oh the smell is just heavenly! But I just don't want to hurt my legs every time I scrub them. I will finish the tube because I hate to waste product and it's not a bad product, but I definitely won't repurchase this product.
