Loaded Lacquer Freezing my baguettes off

Winter has hit, well, as much of a winter as we get, which means my hands are starting to look like old lady hands again. I keep applying hand cream and cuticle butter or oil, but they're still dry and somehow extremely wrinkly. Not fun...

The polish I have to show you today is fun though! It's from one of my favorite indie brands and although it's not my normal type of color, I do really like it.

Loaded Lacquer Freezing my baguettes off is a white jelly base packed with pink and rose metallic hex, square, circle and micro glitters. It also has some iridescent glitter in there to give it a little more depth.

The formula is really nice, like I've come to expect from this brand. You can get this opaque on its own in about 3 coats, but I like it better layered over a white or, like I did in these pictures, a very light pink polish. The glitter comes out easily, no need to fish and I like that you don't get an overload of glitter with each coat, so you can do a few coats without getting to much glitter on the nail.

I layered 2 coats of Freezing my baguettes off over a single coat of China Glaze Friends forever, right? and I think this makes for the perfect, girly combination. I don't wear baby pink often, as it's just a bit to sweet for me, but add some glitter and I'm all in!

This polish is part of the 2014 Ha Ha Holiday collection and I love the fact that Heather stayed away from the normal holiday reds and gave us a different kind of Holiday collection. If you haven't tried any Loaded Lacquer polishes before, you really should give them a go, they're awesome!

You can get these gorgeous polishes on the Loaded Lacquer website, but it's currently closed until the end of January, so check back than.

What do you think of this polish? Do you like the white jelly based glitters or do you stay away from them as far as you can get?

Beauty Box April 2014

When I got home from a lovely weekend at my parents, there was a little package waiting for me. The April Beauty Box had finally arrived! I usually like the products in the box, but they do ship it out extremely late. Every month they make promisses about shipping earlier, but every month we get it the Saturday after the last day of te month. Luckily that is my only complaint so far, let's have a look at the content of this months box!

The box itself is always a sleek, black box with the Beautybox logo on it. Inside you'l find a blue paper covering the products and a card. All the products in the box are listed on the back of this card, this month we got 5 products, 4 of which were full size. Not bad to be honest.

First up is a Rituals Shower Scrub. I've tried products from this line before and really love the scent, so I am very happy with this scrub! I can't wait to try it.

Next is an Inglot gel eye liner. I've been wanting to try a gel eye liner and Inglot is a brand I haven't tried before, but a friend of mine has and she really loves it. Unfortunatelly the liner came in a pinky red color. This is one of those colors that I doubt would look good on anybody, most people would look like they have a bad case of pinkeye wearing this shade. Such a shame, I would have loved almost any other color, but this one is not for me. The product itself does feel really nice and creamy and the pigmentation is ok.

I also received a Miners matte face powder in the shade Medium. I'm not a medium, but looking at this product, neither is the powder. It's very llight and I think this would be a great match for my skintone and I'm extremely fair. So I'm happy medium isn't a true medium.

Powder and eye liner
The little tube is a Balance Me Balancing Moisturizer for normal to combination skin. I haven't tried anything from this brand yet, but we did receive a cleanser in the previous box. I'm always up for trying something new, can't wait to see if this will work for me!

Last but not least is a Golden Rose mascara. It says it defines and maximizes lashes on the tube and the brush seems nice. I love trying mascara's and am always on the hunt for that perfect one that is extremely black, seperates my lashes without clumping and gives me both lengt and volume. This one sounds good, let's hope it deliveres!

Overall I really like this box. I love the Rituals body scrub and Golden Rose mascara. The powder and moisturizer will be put to good use, but the gel eyeliner is a bit of a dissapointment color wise. Such a shame they gave me this weird color that looks good on nobody. I will try it though, hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised!

What do you think about this months box?

OPI I just can't Cope-Acabana

Happy Monday everybody!
No Mani Monday this week, I totally spaced and forgot to do a mani and as I'm currently testing out a weekly polish (more to come next week), I'm afraid I'll have to skip this week.

But I do have an awesome polish to show you! As soon as I saw swatches of this polish, I knew I had to have it, especially when I heard people rave about the formula of this polish. I heard things like "almost a 1 coater", "perfect with 2 coats", "no streakyness", etc. so of course I couldn't resist!

OPI I just can't Cope-Acabana is a bright yellow cream. It's part of the recent Brazil collection for spring/summer. This is the one polish that stood out for me in this collection.

When I first applied this, I had high expectations with all the praise this polish was getting, but I have to admit, I felt a little dissapointed. It applied smooth and easy onto the nail, but it was patchy and I just wasn't expecting it to be. It's definitely not a 1 coater and I even needed 3 coats to get it completely smooth, even and opaque. But it dried fast, so that wasn't a big deal. Once I got over my expectations and just went by what it was, I realized this polish has the best formula of all the yellows I've tried.

I absolutely love it! The color is awesome and makes me smile everytime I look at my nails! I already know this will get a lot of use in spring and summer!

What's your favorite yellow?
