China Glaze Pop the trunk

I love orange on my nails and one of my favorite polishes of all time is China Glaze Riveting. I've worn that so much, my bottle is almost gone. So when I saw China Glaze included an orange polish in the recently released Road Trip collection, I just had to get it.

China Glaze Pop the trunk is a very red leaning midtoned orange cream. This was marketed as a bright orange, but I just don't agree with that. It is a really nice color though that will suit just about any skintone.

The formula is... well... not my kind of formula. It's not bad, but it is rather thin and it does tend to run down the nail and flood the cuticle. You need to be very careful not to overload the brush when applying, or you'll end up with a mess on your nails.

Besides the very thin, runny formula, this also needs at least 3 coats to be fully opaque and it doesn't dry as fast as other polishes. It is a nice and shiny polish, but I'd suggest adding a fast drying topcoat anyway, to help with the drying time.

I do really love this color, It's the perfect midtoned orange. Not too bright, not too muted and it will look good on just about everybody, but it's just not so unique that I want to put up with the formula.

If you like a thin formula, this is the polish for you, but if not, I'd skip this one.

Did you pick up any polishes from the Road Trip collection?

China Glaze Boho Blues

I love blue polish, I think it's my favorite color to wear after red. I especially love bright blues, cobalt blues and royal blues, they tend to look best with my skintone. I do love lighter, more pastel tinted blue, but it just doesn't love me back.
When I first saw swatches of this polish, I intended to stay far far away from it, but I just kept staring at this beautiful shade. It's just so pretty, so I decided to risk it looking absolutely awfull on me and just picked it up.

China Glaze Boho Blues is a cornflower blue cream and it's part of the Spring 2015 Road Trip collection,

The formula is nice, a little on the thin side, so don't overload your brush, because it does like to flood your cuticles. Because it's a little thin, you do need 2 - 3 coats to get it opaque, but it dries really fast and shiny, so 3 coats wasn't a problem for me.

On the first coat I thought this was going to be a big disaster for me. It didn't look great and I almost took it off before even painting the second coat. I'm so glad I didn't though, because when it was completely opaque, it just glowed on the nail and I really liked it!

It's such a bright and fun shade, definitely spring appropriate. I can't wait to see what it will look like when I have a little bit of a tan, not that you can really see a big difference on me, but still...

What's your favorite kind of blue to wear?

China Glaze More to explore

I'm so over this cold and nasty weather, it's time for spring! Unfortunately, we still have to muddle through February and March before it's anywhere near spring, but that doesn't mean I can't bring spring to my nails!

China Glaze More to explore is a coral cream with a lot of peach tones. It's part of the new spring 2015 Road Trip collection that has just been released.

The formula is nice, but a little patchy. Nothing too bad, but I did have to do 3 coats to completely even it out. It dries really fast and shiny though, so 3 coats wasn't a big problem for me.

I absolutely love this color, when I first saw it, it reminded me of Flip Flop Fantasy and they are similar, but FFF is a pastel neon and although this is a really bright polish, it's nowhere near a neon,

Because it's such a peachy shade, I was afraid it wouldn't look good on me, because pastel polishes just don't work with my skintone, but it's just bright enough for me to pull off. I was hoping this would be FFF, only with a better formula, but even though it's a lot easier to work with and I'm happy I own both, I still like FFF a little better. What can I say? I just like my neons!

Have you picked up any of the China Glaze Road Trip collection?
