OPI Christmas gone plaid

I know Christmas is over, but I always tend to go a little crazy for the holiday collections and there's just not enough time around Christmas to show all the beautiful polishes I add to my collection, so you'll see a few of them popping up during the rest of the year. And let's be honest, this gorgeous polish is not only perfect for the holidays, but all year round!

OPI Christmas gone plaid is a gorgeous deep, vampy green cream and was released as part of the Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 collection.

The formula is absolutely perfect! It glides on the nail like butter, is opaque in 2 smooth and thin coats and it dries fast and really shiny. The only bad thing about this polish is that it stained my nails pretty bad, but let's be honest, I love the color so much, I really didn't care!

It's such a gorgeous, deep green shade, that you'd expect it to look black, but somehow it never does. You can always tell it's green, even in very dim lighting. I love these types of shades, Lincoln Park after dark is one of my all time favorite OPI's and this gorgeous green is right up there.

This polish was released as part of a Limited Edition holiday collection, but you should still be able to find it everywhere and let's just hope they'll make this part of the permanent collection, because it's a classic, stunning shade.

OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby

Ever since OPI came out with My favorite Ornament, I've been obsessed with white gold polish. I absolutely love the Zoya Pixie Dust version and Ornament might be my favorite polish of 2013! So when I saw OPI included a gold satin polish in their Gwen Stefani collaboration collection, I had to have it!

OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby is, like I said, a light gold polish with a satin finish. It reminds me of a bubbly glass of champagne! I have to be honest, to me, the satin finish is just a matte finish. I really don't see a difference, if you do, please explain it to me, because I'd love to know!

 

The formula was spot on. It flows on the nail, dries really fast and is opaque in almost 1 coat, but I like it better with 2. As I said, this has a satin finish, so it dries matte, but because of the shimmer in it and the color, it doesn't look matte.

I love this color, it's absolutely stunning and the matte finish makes it even more beautiful, but I'm not loving it on my skin tone unfortunately. I was hoping this would look just as good as Ornament, but it's a little too yellow for me. Such a shame, because I do like this polish. I think I might play around with it a bit, to see if I can get it to work for me. I think it would look great paired with 4 in the morning.

OPI Over and over a-Gwen

When I first heard OPI was doing a collaboration with Gwen Stefani I was over the moon! I love her! She has such a unique sense of style and I couldn't wait for the first swatches of her collection. When I finally saw the first pictures, I was... well... a little dissapointed to be honest. The colors seemed nothing special and there was not a single one that stood out to me.

But then I saw swatches and I knew I had to have just a couple of them. I already showed you 4 in the morning and I love it! Today I have OPI Over and over a-Gwen to show you. This is just a standard red cream, beautifull, but by no means unique. I do like the fact that Gwen's signature is printed on the cap.

The formula was nice, a little on the thin side, so be carefull to avoid flooding. It's opaque in 2 coats and dries fast. I do really like it, but I'm a red nails kind of girl :D

What made me want to buy this polish, is the fact that it comes with some lovely studs and a gorgeous box. This makes it a collectors item in my book and I wanted to display this in all its glory.
You can imagine my dissapointment when I could not get the stupid bottle to fit the box in such a way that it looks nice enough to display. Now, I just have a bottle of polish in a box... hmpf...

If anyone can tell me if it is possible and what I'm doing wrong... please do!

OPI 4 in the morning

OPI is the brand know for coming up with new types of finishes.They came out with suede finish, crackle, spotted and the Liquid Sand finish first (as far as I know). Now, they have come up with yet another relatively new finish: Satin. It's a mat-but-not-quite, kind of finish. It's still a little shiny somehow and very glossy looking.

OPI 4 in the Morning has this satin finish. It's a very dark gunmetal grey cream in the bottle, but it dries to a gorgeous semi matte or socalled satin. I really like it, it's such a nice change from the regular shiny finish.

The formula was absolutely perfect! It applied like a dream and was opaque in almost 1 coat, but I did 2 thin ones. If you do your coats a little thicker, 1 you can definitely get away with just 1. It dried really fast and, as I've said several times allready, semi matte.

This polish came out with OPI's most recent collection, the Gwen Stefani collaberation. I love that collection, it has some really nice unique colors, like this one and some classic shades like the gorgeous Over and Over a-Gwen red (stay tuned for a full review of that polish later). This is one of my favorites though, because of the finish. It gives this polish something extra and makes it stand out on my nails. I love it and this will be a stable for me during fall and winter (and, let's be honest, I probably will rock it in spring and summer too)!
