Darling Diva Polish A Christmas Story

I know Christmas is over, but I really wanted to show you this gorgeous polish and I just didn't have time to show you earlier. This is one of my first indie polishes and I absolutely love it. I've allready show you it's sister as my favorite glitter for Mani Monday's some time ago. This is the same polish, only different colors, perfect for Christmas and with a name like this, it should be!

Darling Diva Polish A Christmas Story is a red and green  micro glitter in a clear base. It does have some holo micro glitter in it and this polish sparkles so much, I had a hard time getting a good picture.

Because of the clear base, it's a fairly sheer polish. You could get it opaque on it's own, but it would take at least 4 coats and you'll end up with a thick layer of glitter on your nail. It's better to layer it over an opaque base. I like this over a deep, dark, vampy red and for this mani, I layered it over 1 coat of China Glaze Naughty and Nice.

Darling Diva Polish is an Indie brand, made by Carrie in the USA. This polish was first released in 2012 as the name polish for her A Christmas Story collection. Darling Diva is available on Etsy, Llarowe and Facebook. She re-released A Christmas Story, so you should be able to get your hands on it, the only thing is that it has been reformulated and is now a bit more red.

What's your favorite Indie polish?

Essie Cashmere Bathrobe

Essie released a gorgeous Fall collection this year, For the Twill of it. I really liked several of the colors, but wasn't keen on the one that everybody is raving about. Don't get me wrong, I like For the Twill of it, but it just doesn't have that wow-factor for me because I own a dupe that has been in my stash for quit some time AND OPI released a polish that's almost a dupe at the same time. That just makes it less interesting to me.

The polish that did immediately caught my eye from this collection was Essie Cashmere Bathrobe. I think it's absolutely stunning and deserves a lot more attention than it has been getting. Unfortunately, it has been completely overshadowed by For the Twill of it...
But just look at this beautifull polish!

This charcoal grey with silver micro glitter is the perfect fall color. I love me some dark colors so no wonder I like this so much. The formula is absolutely perfect! It applies like a dream and is almost a one coater, but I did need that second coat to get it nice and even on the nail. The dry time is fast and it dries to a shiny finish.

I think this stunning polish deserves a lot more attention and I know I will wear this a lot in the coming months!

What's your favorite of this collection?

China Glaze Flying Dragon (neon)

There's no doubt about it, summer is here!!!
The weather has finally changed and I'm enjoying the sun and extremely hot temperatures for as long as they will last (forecast is predicting a drop in temperature and rain in a few days... yeah...).

Finally, I can wear all my summer polishes and see all the beautifull shimmer, glitter and neon colors come to live in the sun.

The polish I'm wearing today is one of those summer polishes, China Glaze - Flying Dragon (neon). A bright purple polish with blue micro glitter, an unusual combination, but that's what makes this so unique and pretty.

There are two versions of this polish, a normal one and a neon one, this is the neon version. The normal one is darker, more purple. Personally I like the neon better.

The formula of this polish was perfect, nothing like other neons. Not streaky or patchy, almost opaque in one coat, but better with two. It did get a little goopy after a few nails, but nothing I couldn't manage and easily solved by rolling the bottle between my hands.

It dries down to a mat finish, like most neon polishes and because of the micro glitter in it, it doesn't feel completely smooth. One coat of SV fixed all of that.

Two coats, one coat SV

It's absolutely stunning and I can't stop staring at my nails!
