Pahlish La Belle Endormie

I've been in full Fall polish mode the last week, even though the weather has been really nice. I was just craving dark polishes. The first dark polish I wore this year is the same one I wear every year as soon as I feel the need for darkness on my nails: OPI's Lincoln Park after Dark. I absolutely love that polish!

Not only did I feel like wearing darker polish, I also felt like buying darker polish. Out with the brights and neons (I'll be expecting a comeback around Christmas, that's when I usually crave a change from all the darks) and in with deep, dark, vampy colors!

Today I have a spectacular polish and one of my new additions to show you.

Pahlish La Belle Endormie is a gorgeous purple based red with a ton of golden micro glitter in it.

I've seen a lot of swatches of this polish and they all look way more purple than it does on me. On my nails it's a gorgeous deep, dark, vampy red with a hint of purple. The purple is a little more noticeable irl than in my pictures, but it's still more red than purple. Luckily everybody knows how I feel about red polish, lol.

La Belle Endormie  translates to Sleeping Beauty, one of the nicknames given to the French city of Bordeaux, the wine capital of the world, because its beautiful city center was once covered in black soot from the industrial revolution. I absolutely love this polish! The color is so incredibly stunning, I'd recommend running out and getting this!

The formula was nice, a little on the thick side, but still easy to work with. Opaque in 2 thin coats and it dried really fast and reasonably shiny, but I did add a layer of top coat.

This is the only good thing about fall and winter for me, vampy polishes! I do rock them in other seasons, but brands don't come out with them during Spring and Summer, so I'm loving the changing of the season right now!

What's your favorite thing about Fall?

Pahlish Forest of the Dead

I have a little confession to make, I've been obsessed with Pahlish polishes. I love every single one Shannon has put out lately and my stash has been steadily growing. Nobody does duo's like she does, even when the two seperate polishes look like they're never going to match, they do! I can't wait for the February duo!

Today I have a gorgeous polish for you, not a duo, but still a winner! Pahlish Forest of the dead is a deep green jelly base packed with coppery metallic flakes and bright green duochrome shimmer according to Pahlish and that's exactly what it is!

The formula was ok, Pahlish polishes generaly tend to be a little thicker than the average polish. I've never had a problem with any of them though and this was no different. Easy to get on the nail and opaque in 2 coats with a fast dry time.

This polish is part of the Doctor Who themed collection "All of time and space". For those of you who know the series, it's inspired by the Vashta Nerada, the shadows that melt the flesh and their infestation of The Library.

I love, love, love this polish! The color is so intense, I just can't get enough! It really sparkles on the nail and it's just so gorgeous!

Do you own any Pahlish polishes? If not, go check out the website and get some, because they're awesome!

Pahlish The Great Pumpkin Duo

Today I have an indie brand for you that is new to my stash. I did hear about this brand a while ago and really wanted some of her gorgeous polishes and a few weeks ago, I finally picked up a few. If you follow me on Instagram (@darkntwistynails) you will have seen my haul picture.

Pahlish The Great Pumpin Duo is a set of 2 polishes. The first is Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch, a complex dark jelly base with a lot of multicolored shimmers. I can see gold, olive, pink and copper shimmers in there.

The second polish, Bag of Rocks, is a clear based topper, filled with different shades of olive green glitter in all shapes and sizes.

The formula for Pumpkin Patch was ok, a little thicker than I'm used to, but easy to handle. It was opaque in 2 coats and dried really fast. I love this polish, the shimmer makes this such a unique polish. I wasn't able to really capture it in my swatch pictures, but just look at this bottle shot, you definitely see this shimmer on the nail!

The formula for Bag of Rocks was absolutely perfect! It glides on the nail and to get this opacity, I used to very thin coats. Normally I would need at least 2 coats of top coat to get this kind of chunky glitter to feel smooth, but I only needed 1 coat for this. Now it feels smooth as glass, not even the almost smooth but I can stil feel the chunks kinda smooth I'm used to with a chunky glitter. This polish really impressed me!

I love these 2 polishes together! I think they compliment eachother really nicely, but you can totally wear Pumpkin Patch on its own.

I love this duo and can't wait to try my other Pahlish polishes! Are you familiar with this indie brand and, if so, what are your favorites?
