Mani Monday: Glitter Darling Diva Seriously Serious

Happy Mani Monday!
Today's theme is glitter and I immediately knew which polish I was going to show you. My absolute favorite glitter is Darling Diva Polish Seriously Serious, a purple and green micro glitter in a clear base.

Darling Diva Polish is an Indie brand, made by Carrie in the USA. Indie polishes are hand mixed and usually really unique. I am a great lover of indie polish and have quite a few, but this is one of my absolute favorites!

Because of the clear base, it's a fairly sheer polish. You could get it opaque on it's own, but it would take at least 4 coats and you'll end up with a thick layer of glitter on your nail. It's better to layer it over an opaque base. Carrie recommends layering this over black, but I like it over blue and purple.

For this mani I used my favorite base for this polish OPI Russian Navy, a blue polish with a reddishpurple shimmer. I love this as the base, because you only need 1 coat.

Do you know that feeling when your hair just doesn't want to do what you want it to do? I think everybody has a bad hair day every once in a while, well, I had a bad nail day...
I was struggling with RN which normally glides on my nails and my removerpen was my best friend... I wanted to only paint 1 coat of RN, because it's opaque enough to layer Seriously over it, but because I normally do 2, I allready painted 3 nails with the second coat before I remembered I just wanted to do 1...
Obviously I can't do 2 coats on 3 nails and just 1 on the rest, so I finished my second layer.

When I finished the unneeded 2nd coat, I reached for my glitter and bumped my nails on the table, ruining 3 nails completely and had to do them all over again.

I finally managed to get this mani done and I just love it!
Seriously Serious has a perfect formula, it glides on the nail and is so densely packed with glitter, that 1 coat is more than enough. It dries fast, but you do need a shiny top coat, because it dries to a semi matte finish. This polish does have the tendency to get a little thick after standing in my stash for a while (and being used a LOT), but this is easily fixed with a few drops of thinner.

2 coats RN, 1 coat Seriously, 1 coat SV

In person, this is a lot more sparkly! It's just so pretty, but I can't seem to get it right in a photo.
Darling Diva is available on Etsy, Llarowe and Facebook.

Seriously Serious is the purple cousin of A Christmas Story, onother absolutely stunning glitter, but with red and green micro glitter.

If you want to read a full review on this polish, please go over to my friend Yv's blog, she just posted this polish (blog is in Dutch, but even just the pictures are stunning).

What's your favorite glitter?
